TTC After a Loss

What do you give up in the 2WW?

I've given up my glass of wine to de-stress, even though I did have one the other day. Also, my warm evening bath with a good book. That's the hard one for me, I love the bath!

Re: What do you give up in the 2WW?

  • I give it all up... I read in a book that if you are trying to get pregnant, to start acting like it. One that temp spikes I'm done with it all, wine, dippy eggs, lunch meat, and my wonderfully sweet coffee.  What will I do without you??  Ok, I will let myself have 1 cup a day of coffee.  It is a personal choice though.

  • I don't give up anything but maybe I should. I just feel that I never gave anything up when I got pg the first time so I shouldn't now but maybe I should.  I do drink less coffee than I used to, I have switched to 1/2 decaf all the time and I don't drink soda anymore but that is all I have changed since I got pg the first time.
  • Oh and I've also given up coffee, and switched to caffeine free soda

  • Sushi, alcohol, coffee (except for the occasional cup). Like pp, I just act like I'm already pregnant.

I give up alcohol and cut back to one cup/day of coffee. Being veg I don't have to worry about the meat issues, and it's been a long time since I could afford sushi. :)
  • I didn't give up anything. I did try to cut back a little on caffine, but I wasn't a huge coffee drinker to begin with. I always have a Starbucks misto or those bottled frappachinos. I did half/caf on the misto when I went, but still drank the bottled drinks without batting an eye. I take nightly bubble baths with DD & I had a few glasses of sangria during the 2ww.?

  • I'm not giving up anything until I get that BFP.  We have been ttc for 2 1/2 years, I can't live my life by a "what if".  I'm really trying to be as less stressed as possible and I think if I focus really hard on the maybes it will stress me out.

As for the caffeine thing, my ob actually had me drinking one cup of coffee during my pregnancy because it helps with the headaches since tylenol wasn't doing it.

  • I use to give up everything but i stopped doing that. The only thing I really dont do is drink but there have been times when I have had a glass of wine.  This month, I did not really watch as I ate deli meat. I dont drink coffee or drink caffeine anyway, so that is not a big deal. I stopped living by what if.

  • Coffee and foot massages. Giving it up during the 2WW also gives me something to be happy about when I get that AF, lol. (Speaking of, I'm off to Caribou!)
  • I don't cut anything out, but I do cut back a lot. I still have tea every morning, still have my wine I need to (I only have a couple glasses a week anyway), and still eat lunchmeat. However, I think with this 2ww I'm switching to regular caffeine-free soda instead of diet caffienated soda. Like str8ota said, I don't want to live my life according to "what if", but as soon as I find out I'm pregnant, everything will change.

I agree with this.  Although, I don't have a lot of "bad" habits anyway, so there's no much to give up.  I don't drink very often (although actually I have been drinking a lot more recently now, but even a lot for me is probably still not a lot for others -- besides I'm sad and not at the point where I can TTC yet), I only drink one cup of decaf coffee a day and don't drink soda.  And I don't like sushi, so that's not a concern.

  • Caffeine, sushi and tuna.

I drink my glass of wine, sometimes 1 1/2 glass - 3-5 times a week.?

I work out less (I like running but worry about all that pounding; I know it's probably really stupid)

I make sure to take my vitamins.

    GL?

  • I don't give anything up either. I cut back a little on the drinking, but I don't drink that much to begin with.

Girl, there is no need to give up your warm baths with a good book! I do that every night still! You just can't raise your body temp over 102 degrees, which is very hot!

I did stop using bubblebath because I read it can cause infection, and I had an infection last time.

I'm not giving up lunchmeat, either! And I've had a bit of coffee here and there, too. I just think people go way overboard with the paranoia, and I learned last time - you can do it all right and still lose the baby. And Lord knows, if it's a healthy pregnancy, a warm bath or a little coffee certainly isn't going to make you lose it!

there is some thought that there are triggers or pressure points in your feet, and lower back that can induce labor. Most OBs though say massage is fine if you go to a licensed massage therapist that is certified in prenatal massage, and that it can actually help all the aches/pains of pg. . . .personal choice I think.
