My mom bought it for me. I don't think I ever read it from cover to cover but I read parts and used a few tips from it (don't ask me what, I don't remember now). It's interesting enough. I also have Happiest Toddler on the Block.
I haven't read it- but maybe I will check it out at barnes and noble on my day off tomorrow... I am borrowing Belly Laughs from a friend to read this weekend- I heard that was hilarious
I highly recommend it ~ we read it when I had DS (and now I'm looking forward to reading the Happiest Toddler on the Block). It made all the difference for us.
You don't have to sit and read the whole thing through - we skipped around a lot and read the stuff that really applied to our situation.
I've had friends swear by the book as well. Our hospital offers a class based on the book, it's $20.00 per couple. You may want to look into that as well.
Absolutely I would recommend it. I didn't read the whole thing- we bought it just as DD was getting out of that stage of life, but for the few weeks we did read it, it was very helpful.
I'm planning on re-reading the whole thing sometime in my 3rd tri

Yes, the 5 S's.... swaddle, side/stomach, shhh, swing, sucking.
The swaddling for sure saved our lives - and I always ask my mom why she didn't do it for me! Apparently I was a tough baby...
