Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

New as well...

I guess this is a board I sadly belong to.  I have had 3 losses.  2 m/c and most recently an ectopic.  This has been a long journey for us.  We have been ttc #3 since July 2005.  I look forward to getting to know you, and offer support when I can.

  • So sorry for your losses!  Hope you can find some peace & comfort.
  • It is such a terrible situation to go through once, to go through it 3 times must be unbearable!  I'm so so sorry for your losses, I hope we can comfort you as much as needed!!
  • I got your reply to my recent post and I just wanted to say I feel a little better knowing that there is someone out there who has some clue as to what I'm feeling - our experiences are so similar. I just got the shot Thursday and so far have not felt any cramping. I'm wondering if it will happen later or if the shot isn't working. I hope you're starting to feel better and have success soon. How long did they say you have to wait before you can try again?
  • i am so sorry to hear you have lost another baby, your heart must be truly breaking and my heart is aching for you.  life is so unfair but we are here for you whenever you need us.  sending you lots of love xoxo
  • i am really sorry for you loss
  • Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.  As much as it sucks that we are going through this, it is nice to find people who understand.

kristyn&ken: I never really got any cramping from the shot.  The worst feeling I had was  (sorry tmi) rectal pressure.  It was almost painful to sit.  I was very tired, and slept alot.  I went for a week and a half with no pain.  Then last Sunday night I got a sudden sharp pain on my right side.  I ended up in the ER all night.  I thought the tube had ruptured.  It hadn't.  My specialist thinks it was the tube releasing a little of what was there.  He thought I was now over the worst of it, and my HCG levels were still dropping.  I felt a little sore (like strained muscles in my stomach) for a few days.  This past Friday I started to feel more like my old self again.

I hope the meds work for you.  I am told it isn't uncommon for women to need a second dose.  So far I am lucky and only had the one dose.  I go back on Thursday for more bloodwork.  It has been a long recovery but I am glad I am avoiding the surgery.

As for when we can try again, my specialist is ordering an HSG test for my first cycle after my HCG levels reach 0.  If that is clear we are being given the green light to try again right away.
