1st Trimester

Dual Shower....

My sister is due with her 2nd in August and I am due the 1st of Oct with my first we wanted to do a dual shower in May back home in CA, we both live out of state. She won't be able to travel of course in 3rd tri so I wanted to see if y'all think I am crazy or if this is a good idea to get us both at each others showers? Any theme ideas? I am a go getter when it comes to party planning, I want my sister to be at my shower and this seems to be the only way. What do you all think?

Re: Dual Shower....

  • Well, it is her second child. You usually don't throw some one a shower for their second kid. But if you are OK with it, do it. My sister in law is due 4 weeks after me, and I already let my friends and family know that if they would like to throw me a shower, it will not be a double shower with my sister in law. Everyone deserves a little special something when they have their first baby, and it shouldn't have to be shared. But that is just my b!tchy opinion.

Also, you may not know the sex (if you are finding out) and if you do find out, you will not have much time to register.

I am having another shower in AZ where I live so I am not worried about it not being special. My sister and I are super close and I had the idea. Thank you for the input I am sure I will get some opposition from parts of my family.
