We are not going to. ?But when people ask us and we tell them this they act shocked. I was wondering if we are missing something. ?So those of you who didn't...do you regret it?
We got the same response when we told people we weren't video taping or taking pictures during delivery. We are just modest and don't regret not doing it at all!! Do what makes you feel comfortable!!
I have to say ( and we did have our camera in the hospital with us but didn't use it until we were back in the room with baby)~ but i wish i had video in the delivery room right after I had her, like when she was being cleaned up, the first time they handed her to us all cleaned up, etc. and I also think that i would want some video of before i actually started pushing. Just to see what our excitement was like before she was here! There is no way though that i would want video of me actually pushing~ that would be scary!
we videotaped when she was out and on table- getting feet fingerprinted and stuff like that. i was being stitched so couldn't really see her. i am SO happy we did that-it is amazing to watch her in the first minutes. as for the actual delivery-ugh no... we did tape leaving the house-i was induced, me beginning of labor, and later in the hospital though.
NO way in heck was I getting pictures taken during pushing and delivery. We had one of me with friends and family during the early stages of labor and then ones of Carter just after he was born. I think I would have strangled anybody who tried to videotape it.
I don't think I will ever forget it! And I don't think I would want to relive it on video! DH took some non-intrusive pictures and those are enough for me!
My mom stood behind me and took video. It focused on mostly the Dr. nurses and DH. I am glad that I have video because it all went so fast and was such a blur I like looking back on it.
We gave the nurse our camera before delivery to take a pic of DH cutting the cord. She took pics while I was pushing (from my point of view) and I didn't want them at first, but I like looking back on them now. Of course, we don't share those with anyone.

We didn't. DH did videotape right after she was born, though. We have the Apgars, when they're cleaning her up, when they put her on my chest, etc. on video.
I'm surprised how much I don't remember after DS was born. It was all a blur. This sounds disgusting, but in some ways, I wish DH had taped the birth from his view ... just so I could see it once then delete it FOREVER. I asked him a million questions about what it looked like. I had zero interest in having a mirror so I could see everything but then I kind of wished I had seen what it looked like ... just out of morbid curiosity!
My DH and I had competely different views on this. For some reason I had never wanted to video the birth and had always been very adament about it. Not for modesty or vein reasons, but because I just thought some things in life should be kept sacred, and felt like this special moment needed to only be witnessed by me, DH, the babies and the docs. Well my DH was hellbent on filming it. I lost that battle and there is now a video of the birth of our babies.
Honestly I am so glad now that we have this and everytime I watch it it fills my heart with the happiness of that day, and I'm able to relive it now without the chaos and anxiety of the actual moment. I'm very glad we did it.
DH had the videotape in one hand and my leg in the othe!. He wasn't going to film "the action" at all but ended up anyway cause he thought it was cool. I have to say that I'm glad he did because it was so cool to see afterwards. I cry every time I watch it. It's in a special spot that no one can see and we have the gross stuff edited out for the baby book.
Re: ? from 3rd tri...Did anyone videotape the delivery?
It was against policy at our hospital here. But I wouldn't have anyhow, I have pictures from after the delivery and that is well enough.

neither birth was videotaped. Who would want to pull that out in 20 years and watch it?
no thanks.
