Four month old still not rolling?

Everyone says it's because he's so spoiled and I carry him everywhere, instead of just leaving him to squirm and cry in bed alone, so he doesn't try and learn how to move on his own.

I think this is mental, but could I be in the wrong here? He tries to roll sort of (gets himself on his side) when I put him on his stomach, but then he gets mad and whines for me to rescue him, haha.

    Well, the more time he spends laying on his tummy or back, the sooner he will roll over.

    DS rolled belly to back when he was about 3 months old. He just rolled back to belly yesterday! For weeks he would roll to his side, but he was never able to get on his belly.

    It will happen eventually. It is not a big deal right now if he can't roll.

    Pedi says that DS has advanced motor skills, but he's 5.5 months old and still hasn't rolled over. All babies hit milestones at different times. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Little Man just started rolling this week. Don't worry. It will happen! DS hates being on his stomach and just cries the whole time. This week he was on his tummy and our dog came over to him and started licking his face. I KNEW this would put him over the edge. Little Man got tired of the dog licking him and rolled over to get away from him. He just needed a little bit more incentive :)

    Ahhh good stuff. :) He's already able to fly around in his bouncer (and has had it for a month) and when you hold him up, he's figured how to 'walk' (he knows enough that one foot goes in front of the other, it's crazy) but won't roll. Maybe he just wants to run and jump. Rolling is for sissies! ;)

    DS is 5 mos and still doesn't.  at 3 mos, she rolled for a wk and then just stopped.  i'm not too concerned though.  she's close to sitting up - i'll take that!

    I read the other day that another nestie's pedi asked her "have you ever seen a school age child who couldn't roll over?" And it's true. Kids develop at their own pace.?

    I thought DD was close for months, but just got the first real rolls a couple days ago at 5.5 months. She loves being on her side and would roll from her back to her side to sleep. I thought this was a good sign of an early roller, but nope! She did roll belly to back a few weeks ago when no one was watching. I think that was a fluke.

    My DS just rolled and he is over 5 months old.  Do you have a bigger baby?  My pedi said that the bigger ones take longer to roll : )

    Our baby just started rolling a few days ago from belly to back.  I wouldn't worry.  She hates being on her tummy too - and now she can just roll over immediately.  In some books I've read that many babies now learn to sit up and roll over at about the same time, 6 mos.
