She gave herself a hickey!!

DD was chomping on her wrist so much she now has a hickey on it (or monkey bite as my mom calls it). She woke from her nap, chomp chomp chomp chomp. She cried to be picked up and I see this giant hickey on her wrist. She really went to town!! Holy moly!

Has anyone else experienced this?

    only when A. was really really young. 

    She has given me a hickey before!  When she is really starving, she'll sometimes miss my nipple and suck the areola...HOLY PAINFUL! and it's like an immediate hickey!

    I had a little girl who was in my preschool class (she was 2 at the time) who sucked on her wrist for comfort (instead of sucking her thumb).  Her poor wrist was always red and raw.

    I noticed it on Maddies the other day.  When her wrist gets really raw and chapped, I put lanolin on it to soothe it, since I know that the lanolin is safe to ingest if/when she sucks the area again.
