I need some help. I am going on maternity leave in 4 weeks. I have started my lesson plans for while I am gone. How in depth would your lessons be? I have two groups for 2 1/2 hours a day. I was thinking of giving a theme for each week as well as a letter of the week. My para left last week so I have to train a new para in the next four weeks and I also have to train the sub in my room. If you know of any websites or have any ideas that would be great.
Re: special ed preschool teachers or elementary teachers HELP please!!!
Lesson plan websites. I am all out of ideas and I also have three grad projects that I have to finish as well.

I am a sped Pre-K teacher. You're new para will be the one to really implement the lessons most likely. My para took the teacher roll and the sub was the para...if that makes sense.
I did a weekly plan, like
Monday- write the letter of the week (white board, chalk board, sidewalk chalk, water colors, finger paint, etc.)
Tues- art project (goes along with theme)
Wednesday- cooking project
Thursday- math
Friday- social studies or science
Another great website is www.notimeforflashcards.com
I also teach special ed preschool. We have a letter and number of the week at this point in the year. We have the same schedule almost every week.
Monday - large group time - count and glue objects for number of the week
small groups/open centers - Paint letter of week or number
Tuesday - large group - form letter with playdough
small groups - paint letter or number
Wednesday - large group - practice writing (lines, curves, shapes, etc)
small groups - cut letter or number
Thursday - large group - write make letter in shaving cream
small group - some sort of holiday or theme craft
Friday - large group - write letter with pencils
small group - complete unfinished work from the week
We will trade activities in and out. This week, we did patterns and community helpers. But those are the main activities that we do everyday (in addition to calendar/circle time, reading time, etc.)
