Dear MIL,
I really appreciate you offering to watch Adelaide for a few hours today. I think its great that you want to spend time with her and I like having the house to myself for a bit. Just a few things you should know:
-The carseat straps should be tight. Saying "We're just going to my house" does not make it safe when I can fit my daughter, her teddy, and her diaper bag in the space the straps have left. (I went out there and fixed it before I let her drive off.)
- Some toys are appropriate for 1 year olds. Some are not. Please don't let her chew and play with your mardi gras beads.

I think they truly forget how to care for a baby. My MIL put DD on the counter, and then said 'oh she can crawl' as DD was crawling off the counter (this was months ago). Clueless!!
PS I'm glad you caught her with car seat... I've almost been hit a few times in my neighbourhood!
