I am planning on delivering there in June. So far, the midwives have been great and very responsive. I just started my birth class and feel very confident with my decision to deliver there after hearing the experience of others in my class. It is a very warm place. Best of luck!
me me me!!! I delivered my second child there (Lyndsay) 2.5 years ago. It was the best birthing experience ever. My midwife was Nikki May, and she was fabulous. I am not one of those earthy-crunchy organic type chicks (no offense if you are), so I was a little worried about how it would be. I knew I wanted to have a drug-free birth (I had an awful experience with my first labor... induced, epidural wasn't placed properly, just not good), so I figured that if I was there I'd be pretty much stuck with my decision, well you aren't really, they WILL bring you next door to the hospital if you really want them to.
Nikki was on-call the night I went into labor and it wa fabulous. I got there, she checked me and I was 4-5 cm, so she brought me upstairs to the birthing room, I sat on the ball, on the stool thingy, I went in the bath, it was amazing. My daughter was born only 3 hours after I got there, I pushed only a few times, and it was so calm there, that I really think that's why my body responded the way that it did.
OK, I could go on all day long about the awesome people there, but I won't. If youhave any questions at all, please feel free to email me, misspurdy1031 at aol dot com.
