Secondary IF

Introducing myself- not even sure if I belong, but hi :)

Hi ladies, I noticed this board over here, and after this week, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'll be honest, I'm not even sure exactly what secondary IF is, but I'm starting to feel like that's the category I'm fitting into. My deal:

1st loss was in Oct. of 2003. DH and I weren't even engaged at that point and not TTC, so it was a surprise. We didn't even know I was pg until I had a nat. m/c. Baby measured 10 wks. We were surprised but excited to get pg- I realized I was pg around 10 wks. Clearly, I wasn't so attentive to my cycles, etc. in the past, and I didn't really have symptoms. We were thrilled to welcome our DD 2/19/07.

We were super excited to have a bfp our 1st cycle really trying, just before Thanksgiving 2008. Everything looked great at the 1st u/s at 7w5d. I had no symptoms at all of a m/c, and was devastated to discover at the 2nd u/s, at 10.5 wks,  that the h/b had stopped. Baby measured 9w2d. We just got the chromosomal test results back, and the m/c wasn't due to chromosomal issues. My OB consulted a specialist, who said that since it's (only) been 2 losses and I had a healthy delivery, that I don't need further testing. That's fine, but I'm just left wondering what in the world happened to this last baby. OB has me on baby aspirin and DH and I are currently TTC. I just had spotting mid-cycle, which I've never experienced before, so I feel like I don't even know my own body anymore. But I figure whatever's meant to be, will be.

So that's my story. Not sure if this qualifies as secondary IF, but if nothing else I thought some of you might be helpful w/ questions going forward. I spend lots of time of PL and TTCAL as well. Best wishes to all on here!

You are definetly welcome here.  I've never suffered losses like you have but many of the women here have.  In fact there is a post talking about this a little lower on the page.  GL!  And I hope you have success really soon!

Edit: Here is the post I referenced too: Link

Welcome! I hope you have a healthy pregnancy soon and we will try to help in any way we can. You can also try the Success after Loss board too. They might have some additional info on how they were able to overcome the loss.?

Hi! I'm new to this board too. The girls are very nice here. I hope your Dr. gives you more insight to what's going on and that you get your BFP very soon.

I just realized something from another board... Have they run a m/c panel screening on you (not just genetics but an overall screening)?  Some of the ladies were talking about it on 6-12.  From what I understand they screen you for everything including clotting disorders, low progesterone levels, etc.  to see if they can avoid a repeat m/c b/c of an organic problem you have.

Thanks, ladies! And thanks, francisca, for the link. I'm familiar w/ the rpl panel. Unfortunately, the specialist my OB spoke with didn't recommend one since I haven't had 3 losses yet, and I did have one healthy delivery. Which is fine, unless I do have to go through a 3rd loss and then I'll be really upset. But I'm just going to assume that's not going to happen :)
