How long did you bleed after D&E?

I had a D&E done 2 days ago and I'm still bleeding like the first day of a period.  The dr. said that I may have 2 or 3 days of bleeding, but may not really have any bleeding.  I'm a little concerned that the bleeding is going to go on for awhile because it is still so heavy.  Just wanted to see how long others bled for and if everything turned out allright??  I'm worried that maybe some tissue was still left inside, etc?  thanks!

    So sorry for your loss. 

    Everyone is different.  My doctor told me I could bleed up to 2 weeks but to call if I was going through a pad an hour.  After my d&c I bled for about 3 days and on the 4th day had some spotting so I wore a light day for a few days and then was done.  I never had any real bad cramping either but I know some people do.  Also, my first AF after my d&c was pretty normal just 4 days later than usual and it was a day shorter (3 days instead of 4 or 5).

    I have not personally experienced this because I barely bled after mine, but I know that at least a few girls on here have bled for a while.  I guess the point where I'd be concerned would be if it was a week later and you were still bleeding just as heavily.  When is your follow-up with your dr?  If it's not for a while, I'd give the office a call just to put your mind at ease.

    I might not be the norm but after my d&c i bleed for 3 weeks! (2 of those heavy) after the first week of bleeding i made an appt and got an internal exam and a ultrasound! I'd wait a few more days and call the dr if not getting better! Sorry about your loss!

    After my first D&C I bled 1 heavy day and then medium to light for about a week and a half, then spotted for another few weeks.  With the D&C I had last Friday I am still bleeding heavily.....so it has been 8 days of heavy bleeding.  They also told me the "no more than 1 pad in an hour" thing, and I am not at that point.  I think everyone is different.  GL.

    Sorry for your loss. I only spotted after my D&E for like 2 days.
