Anyone have personalized license plates?

The jeep we bought used to have personalized plates so now we are waiting to get our new plates. ?I've been thinking about getting a personalized plate for it but was wondering about the cost. ?Is there a big cost difference between just getting a regular plate and a personalized one? ?It doesn't look too expensive on DMV's site.

    It has literally been years since I've had one. Yeah it costs a little more and yeah it is novel at first but what I didn't like about it is now you are no longer anonymous. People notice a word on a license plate. Police are more likely to pull you over. If there is road rage incident, someone is more likely to remember your license plate and come after you (no it didn't happen to me but it crossed my mind), people that you might know might be more likely to recognize your car in a parking lot and come find you in a store.

    It may or may not be a big deal to you but that is something to think about.

    DH has a personalized plate that is military related and I think it was about $30 extra a year. I know that it varies (Lake Tahoe, Olympics, 9/11) depending on what kind of plate you want but it's not much more but things may change since the gov threatened to increase car registration fees.
