I'm new- Provera question

I was diagnosed with PCOS about a yr ago when TTC the first time.  With the help of metformin (only for a month!) I got pg and had a little girl Sept 4 of 08, only to lose her to SIDS 4 months later. 

 I am back on the metformin, but still haven't had AF, so my dr wants to try Provera.  What experience have you all had with Provera?  The only thing that scares me is she mentioned that it has a depressing effect on some ppl, and obviously I don't need anymore of that than I already have.

    I have PCOS and I take provera when I don't get a period on my own. I take it for 10 days then a few days later I start. No real side effects for me.  Always take a test before you start provera though, just to be sure you're not pregnant.

    I am so very sorry for your loss.

    I have never taken provera, but I took prometrium and the s/e were very mild.

    As the pp said, so sorry for you loss!

     

    I am currently taking my third round of provera. I have had no side effects at all. I take them before I go to bed at night. The past two cycles I have got AF three days after my last pill. For others it can take longer. GL!
