Mine does that, too. It's because your ab muscles are separated right now.
I could be making that up, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is. I just don't know what it is that is protruding out through your ab muscles. Off to google...
It looks like it is called diastasis recti. You can see mine when I sit up or bend backward. I don't think it's anything to worry about, but now I am wondering if this is what is contributing to all of my back pain. This specific link doesn't say anything about back pain, but when googling, I found many that did. Anyway...

Interesting, thanks for the link. I first noticed it when I was only about 13 weeks along or so and it's gotten a little worse. I only notice it when I lean back or arch my back. It's weird though. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Yes, it is diastasis recti. I posted about this a few days ago - I asked my OB what the heck was up when I saw I could do this same trick.
I recommend googling this for more info. Nothing you can do about it now., but you will want to do some specific ab exercises pp to close up the gap - it can lead to back pain & bulging of your tummy too. There's things you can do now & pp to keep it from getting worse too. And if you read/hear that its because you're ab muscles weren't tight enough pre-preg, that's BS. I did Pilates 2-3 times a week for 8 years pre-preg, & my abs are split horribly.
