DD started sleeping through the night about 5 days ago and she's only 2.5 months. Is this just a flukey week or is it possible I might not have to go through all the sleep training dramas? (please say yes??)
dd started sleeping trhough the night on her own when she was about 4 weeks old.. the first night it scared me when she didn't wake up! but then she continued and has been great ever since.....
I don't know even know what sleep training is, and Colt sleeps through the night very well. so yes! good luck, I hope it isn't a fluke and you have a good little sleeper.
DD just started dropping night feedings. So great! We didn't "do" anything in the way of training. When she was a week or so old I was determined to correct her days and nights so I started feeding her in her room at night in as low a light as I could stand. It just became boring to wake up I suppose.

DD started sleeping through the night on her own when she was about 2 months old. The first night it scared me when she didn't wake up, when I woke up the next morning and realized she had slept through the night I ran to her PNP to make sure she was okay. Sure enough she was and she has been sleeping through the night ever since. So yes it is possible with out sleep training, and it's possible at 2.5 months old because DD started doing it at 2 months.

definitely possible. ?I always turned the lights down low at night, and would usually put her down in her crib after her 10 o'clock feeding. ?at around 6 weeks she started sleeping until 6 and then going back to bed. ?Since then she now goes to bed around 8-9 and sleeps until 8. ?Haven't had to sleep train, just started putting her to bed now at night when she becomes a complete crank or is rubbing her eyes... ?Good luck!

Ditto this for DS. He has 4 "friends" the same age and they all started to STTN (5-8 hour stretches) at around the same age, too. So 2.5 months is right in there! Enjoy! It will probably stick!

the past two weeks, DS has been experimenting, sleeping for 5 to 8 hour stretches, starting between 8pm or sometimes 10 pm. ?no training, just started happening. ?may have started earlier if we stopped waking him for his midnight feeding. ?so, yes, they can start on their own!
Yes this can happen and I am just as surprised as you! Ryan sleeps 7 hour stretches and I am so thrilled because this was sooo not my experience with my first son! It took close to a year to get him to sleep more than a few hours in a row, so I am really happy this time to get sleep!
When DD was around 8 weeks old, we started swaddling and she went from sleeping 4-5 hours at a time to 7-9 hours. Now she sleep between 9-12 hours at night. If she gets up after 9, she eats and then goes back to sleep for a few more hours. We never had to do anything to get her to sleep well, she just did it on her own, though I do think the swaddling helped a lot.
She was a great sleeper starting at about 3 weeks, waking up only once over a 12 hour night. Then at 3.5 months it all went downhill. She's now waking up every 2 hours, and sometimes shes so wide awake that I have trouble getting her back down.
DD has STTN 3 nights in a row. We have a bedtime routine but we are still rocking DD to sleep. She falls asleep between 8 and 8:30pm and then she wakes up once or twice between 9:30 and 11:00pm and we have to go in there and rock her back to sleep. After that, she sleeps until 7:00am. When she is 5 months, we are going to work on getting her to fall asleep on her own. Oh, I am dredding that!!!
Re: Did anyone's LO start STTN on their own?
good luck, I hope it isn't a fluke and you have a good little sleeper.
