  • Great news and congrats on having a baby girl!
  • Wonderful news!  Congratulations!

Can I ask why you had the CVS done? Was there concern due to someone in your family having something that you wanted to get checked out?  Was the process painful?

Our NT Scan and b/w came back with a higher risk for Downs and Trisomi 18 (sp?).  The Downs didn't concern us as much as the Trisomi 18 since babies with that might not make it through the pg and if they do they die shortly after being born and I couldn't do that to a child.  And Holy Hell, yes it hurt!  With an ultrasound guide, they stick a large needle into your stomach, uterus and into the placenta, they then move it up and down to get a needle biopsy of the placenta to test the baby's DNA.  It was the most deep, aching pain I have ever felt.

  • That is amazing news!  Congratulations on your healthy baby girl!!!

  • Congratulations on your results!!

I just had my CVS procedure done this Tuesday and even though it was transvaginal, it was so uncomfortable!  We are told 7-10 days we should have the results back.  Did you find that yours came back sooner or longer?

Thanks and again, congrats on your baby girl!

  • Dear God I can't imagine how painful THAT was!  My doc said that it all depends on how the doctor is trained as to whether they do it transvag or abdominal.
