3rd Trimester

Normal or should I be worried?

For about the past 5-6 hrs -- from my left knee down, my leg has been killing me, like it got hit with a baseball bat repeatedly. Also, my left foot is tingling and won't stop.

I have kept it elevated and not done anything figuring it would go away. There is no swelling.

Cause for concern or wait it out?

Re: Normal or should I be worried?

  • Not trying to scare you, but I was complaining of pain in my leg last night (I had a charlie horse that left my leg sore) and MH checked it out in case it was a blood clot (he's a Dr.).  So, that was my first thought when I read your post.

  • Have you tried to massage it? Sometimes mine gets sore so I have DH massage it, I am also pretty swollen, though! Sorry, I'm not much help!

  • Call your doc, it could be a blood clot.

    ?

    ?

My Mom had one in her leg when I was younger, and it began almost exactly like you're describing! Not to scare you....but definitely don't brush this off!?

  • DH will be home soon ... think i will have him massage it then.

I figured if it didn't go away by tomorrow morning, I would call Doc and see what she wants me to do.

Agreed. I would call the on-call doc and see what they say. ?It's probably fine, but a good thing to get checked out.?

  • Okay so after seeing some of your responses -- I'm not completely scared, but I think I will call the on-call Doc instead of waiting until morning........

    Thanks girls

  • Call the doc and DO NOT massage it!!  If it is a clot, massaging it could break it loose and send it straight to your lungs.  I don't want to scare you, but this could be very serious!
  • sounds like a really bad cramp or you have a pinched nerve, have you tried taking a bath but it could be clot, i would call the dr

For sure dont massage it.  I would ask the doctor to send you for an ultrasound of the leg tomorrow to make sure it's not a clot.  Take it easy tonight and don't stretch or massage it.

  • I agree...blood clot was my first thought.

I would def try to massage it if it just feels like a sore muscle...

If it is really tingly and numb...call your dr.
