wow... so i guess i need to lay off the sugar and hope my 3 hour test goes well. GD means total birth plan change for me so I really have to get my number down somehow.

With my son, I failed at 158 for the 1 hour and passed all 4 of the 3 hour draws.
With this pregnancy, I failed with a 136 (my doc said they no longer go by the 140 cut off but, now use 134 as the cutoff). I am pissed that I have to take the 3 hour but, with twins and having a previous large baby, they want me to take it.
My 1 hr came back @ 160. Just did the 3 hr today, I'll get the results in a few days. Did you eat before your 1 hr? From what I have heard, some docs tell you to eat before the 1 hr. and some tell you to fast. My Dr. had me eat, so I am wondering if that is why I failed. In any case, GL with your 3 hr...
Got 155 at 1 hour and failed the 3 hour, but not by much. But you know, I'm questioning if I really do have GD..... been testing after eating some REALLY bad food, and my numbers are always good, so I don't know.
And unfortunately, laying off sugar in the days before has NO effect. And carbs are what you will be watching if you do have GD, not sugar. Fortunately, GD shouldn't really change your birth plans at all.?
1 hour was 169, passed all four blood draws in the 3 hour. And I totally understand your concern about birth plans. I was worried, too. GD diagnosis often leads to early induction and/or c-section. Good luck.

My Dr.'s cutoff is 140 and I barely squeaked by with a 139! My office also told me to eat, but the Egg McMuffin and hashbrown on the way to my appointment might have had something to do with my number.

Re: Glucose tolerance testing - your results?
81 -- also within normal limits?

I think my dr said 130 was their high end limit. I was 80, so I passed.
I failed at 143. My Dr used 140 as the cut off but some go as low as 130, I believe.
I passed the three hour - but they didn;t give me scores. They just said I passed.
