I need to get over this..

So, the director on the shoot has been preferring Jack over George. Not for any reason other than Jack did the first scene so well that they keep using him. I keep trying to sneak George in and they say- it's going really well with Jack so we want to keep going with him for now.  I totally get WHY they want to do this BUT...It breaks my heart!!!!!!!!

So it got me thinking, what will happen if one gets a friend that doesn't like the other?  Or if the try out for a team and one doesn't make it, or rides the bench? Do you all feel this way?

Re: I need to get over this..

  • i have no answers since mine are not here yet- but i just read the chapter in "Twin Set" that deals with this type of thing. Have you read that book? it's really good- and tons of info for as twins grow (not just infant stuff)....talks about school, friends, bday parties, etc.

  • That's just part of being a twin.  I can't tell you how many times in my life I was upset because my twin sister got to do something I didn't get to do, or how many times the reverse happened.  It's harder than different aged siblings because the comparison is so easy.  There will be plenty of times that they will be sad about this, but I know that I'm glad I have my twin sister in my life, even if it was made more obvious that she got a speaking role in the 8th grade play and while I was stuck in the chorus.  And I think she would agree that even though she was cut from JV basketball the year I made varsity.  I should check with her, but I think she thinks that is an ok tradeoff the benefits of being a twin.

  • I KNOW I am going to feel that way...especially as the mom!!! I can imagine for the twins there is the tradeoff of them being better at different things....but as a mom you hurt when your kids hurt and I think that will be so hard!!!!

I feel the same way, Mamma...but don't worry....G will get his chance to shine!!!

  • Thanks!  G got a full scene tonight so I feel much better... but I was so surprised at how sad I felt.....lol!  Just the beginning!
  • i do.
