Breastfeeding

I think I'm starting a bad habit.

When DD gets up in the middle of the night, I feed her in our living room on the couch (it's the most comfortable) but I'm starting to fall asleep.  And when I wake up, she's still nursing (and sleeping too).  I know this is probably very bad but I can't help falling asleep.  I just get so tired.

  • I did this once and woke up with a cracked nipple at 10 mos!  Booooo.

This should motivate you to stop! Wink

  • Uh yeah, I used to do this, but in our bed, not on the sofa...

in fact I used to do it a lot for her early morning nursing session- she would wake up around 6:30 and come into bed and nurse and then we would just sleep until 9:30 or so- it was great.

  • I did that in our bed.  She eventually unlatched.  ;)  Then she just slept with us the rest of the night so I didn't have to keep getting up every time she wanted to nurse.

  • Heck, I fall asleep for a few minutes a few times a week when feeding DS before I go to bed.  I wouldn't worry too much about it.
  • I fall asleep in the rocking chair with DD a few times a week. It freaks me out. I sit at an angle where she can't fall out of y arms, on the my brest friend pillow, and I lock my arms around her as she eats.

  • I did it too, just don't do it too regularly unless you like the possibility of baby in your bed.   We are currently trying to get DS to stay in his bed...still.
