My boys are still being fed through tubes, but both are showing signs of being more ready to breastfeed. Nathan is more awake, making sucking noises during meals, and taking a pacifier at times. So we decided for his morning feed this morning we'd meet with lactation and she showed me how to old him, help him latch, and monitor his breathing. It was great. He did great, seemed to enjoy sucking, and was able to express some milk. He still needed to be fed his typical 38ml for breakfast, but she considered it a very successful first attempt!

Wow! That is really great! Our NICU wouldn't even let me attempt to BF until LJ was 34 weeks but I convinced them to let me try at 33 1/2! Way to go Nathan and mommy!

That is great. My girls were born at 30w1d and the hospital let me start trying when they were 3 days old. They are now 30 days old and I am still nursing/pumping and they are nursing/taking a bottle/tube feeding.
