When does the drooling stop?

Aiden is like a water faucet these days. Constant drooling.  How long does this go on?  I'm kind of wondering if he is teething early. He drools all the time and lately everything goes in his mouth and he tries to chew on it.  I thought the putting everything in his mouth thing would happen when he was a little older.

Re: When does the drooling stop?

  • so far with maddy, it hasn't, and she is almost 17mos old.

she will stop for a few weeks to a month or so, then it will start up again as the next tooth or teeth start coming in.

i hate keeping a bib on her all the time, so i am constantly wiping her mouth.

  • Natalie is still very drooly whenever she has a round of teeth coming in.

  • Ditto on when new teeth are coming in.  But I noticed that Mia's all-the-time drooling really cut down around 9 months or so?  Something like that.

  • I think it is pretty normal for them to start drooling a lot around 2 months.  I read somewhere that babies actually start producing more saliva around that age and just can't control it.  Both of my boys started drooling really badly at 2 months and J didn't get teeth until he was 6.5 months old and G is 5.5 months old and no sign of teeth.
