I am so happy I called about getting the boys evaluated again. I felt like they were behind in their communications. They don't really point, they don't know what "yes" and "no" mean, they don't ask for things, they only have a few words, etc, etc. They're classic multiples, it sounds like. It really sounds like they're having conversations sometimes using only "goo" and "ga". heh.
Anyway, I'm just so happy that they're going to be getting speech therapy! Louisiana had a really sucky program when I had them evaluated last May, but apparently they had a reorganization and now it's better.
(Holly, if you're reading this - do your boys get therapy through Early Steps?)
Re: Boys qualify for EI
It's the Early Intervention program in Louisiana. It's free!

In Lousiana does your EI get paid for through your health insurance? Just curious how other states work. I work for a company that is used together with EI for children with Autism. In MA it goes through your insurance.
Ugh, bummer that they qualify, but it's great that they're getting help now so they can get caught up ASAP.
My guys would normally qualify too, but our state is in major financial trouble so all developmental services were just cut, so now only kids with CP or autism get services. Major suck. I'm trying to get them into speech therapy that our insurance will pay for but there's a 6+ month waiting list.
I'm actually happy they qualified. My other friends with triplets and quads have been getting it for their kids since the beginning (because they were just a few days more premature, so they automatically qualified) and they are way ahead of the boys. So I'm glad they'll be getting the extra help. It's pretty clear now that they're communicating okay between themselves, but not with outsiders. Oh the joys of multiples!
