I still have small issues with DS' center. It's a great place, really, but there are just some things that don't give me the warm fuzzies. Mostly just in the way it's run, which normally doesn't affect DS' care, but sometimes it does. I just kinda suck it up, knowing there aren't any other centers in the immediate area I'd rather go to, and it's not enough of an issue to drive comletely out of my way for.
Anywho, DH told me he accidently discovered a daycare that's right down the road from us, still on my way to work (if I go that way). I don't know how we didn't know it was there. It's just off the main road, on a side road, but there are no signs or anything at the main road. I drove by yesterday, and it looks like a nice big place from the outside. It's not part of a chain. I looked it up on the state's website, and they have had ZERO complaints or findings, which is just about impossible. It's only a 3 star, but that's not as important to me as it used to be. So I'm going to go by one day at lunch and check it out. I'm still not sure I want to pull him from his current center, but I figure it's worth looking into.
Re: I think I'm going to check out a new daycare
Having not been there yet I think I would do the same thing you are doing. Honestly, I'm stubborn and would probably pull him out but I don't know what all that involves just yet.
I understand- I'd definitely look at this new place and consider it. It doesn't hurt to find out more info!
Awhile back I considered a switch for Nate, but in the long run we decided that we're happier where he is for now. There's another center that I'm also interested in, but it's further from home and more expensive so I'm not sure if it's worth it. I'll probably re-visit them in the next couple of months to see how I feel about it. If we were to move him to that center, I'd expect him to stay there until kindergarten unless we were to move or something.
ETA: When I put DS in the center he's in now, my original plan was to move him to the other center when he was around a year old. I've been really happy with his current center though, so it'll be hard for me to decide if we really want to make that change.

Thankfully I didnt have to shop....but that doesnt mean that it is a perfect center either. I have had no complaints with his care at all. I think my main issue is the floaters. I am not really crazy about them, and they just dont give me the vibe his teachers do. I am sometimes late for work just to make sure his teachers are actually there and not the floaters first thing in the morning.
I know when I was looking for the pool I saw several centers in that area. That obv isnt right on your way to work but wondering where it is. Those centers looked really big too and were not chains but they looked very nice.
It's on the other side of the bridge from you (and the pool) on Hickory Tree. You turn right there beside that Dr's office, across from the funeral home. Where did you see centers?
Side note: even though I'm not excited about looking for a bathing suit, I am so excited about going to the pool this summer!
The ones I saw are on the other side of the bridge I dont think they would be as easy to get to. The nicer of the two is taking a R at the light at S Main St. and taking the first rd on your R. It is about 2 miles down on the R. That is where I thought the pool was first.
Sounds like the one you are going to look into would def be closer then you could just hop on 52. Good to know for future ref!
Oh I am def excited about the pool, I am pretty sure we will be spending lots of time there this year. Esp on Sat afternoons, and weekday afternoons would be nice too T could meet us there and change and we could have dinner there, bringing our own of course.
I might have to drive by that one, just to see. It's funny how many are around, and you just never hear about them.
I hope we spend lots of time there too. I think Eli will want to anyway. I wish I could get Fridays off, I really wish I could. But I really don't think my boss would even consider it. Even if he did, I'd have to take a paycut, and I'm not sure we could do that right now. That's a good idea about meeting and having dinner there, we might do that too sometimes. Does T like the pool? DH is ok about it, but he doesn't enjoy it as much as I do. I bet with Eli though he'll like it more. I think he just gets bored. Too bad they don't have a snack bar, but I guess the membership would be alot more $$ if they did!
