Intro & CD/registry question

Hello all,

EFF lurker here. I'm about 10 weeks along and have decided that I really want to cloth diaper. Thinking ahead to a registry, it seems like there are limited cloth options on the traditional registries (BRU and Target). Did you all register for CDs? What registry? I noticed that amazon seems to have more CD options... anyone have experiences to share? Other recommendations? Thanks!

Re: Intro & CD/registry question

  • I didn't do this for my baby shower, but I did register with www.myregistry.com after I had numerous family members ask what I needed for DS (the main thing was diapers, and I didn't find one site that had what we wanted).  It just seemed easier.  It allows you to put on items from any website, and items that you can find in local brick & mortar stores.  HTH

  • Welcome and congrats!

also, amazon has  a way to add items from other sites onto your list. we did that for christmas and put diapers from Jillian's Drawers on our amazon list :) so you could add the trial package to your wish list!

i did a BRU registry for out of town folks, and put lots of the Gerber organic cotton layette items. They are good quality, and I've been really happy with them so far.

then i did another registry at the one local store that carries cloth diapers.

  • We did a mostly CD registry through myregistry.com.  Some CD online stores have a registry option but we wanted things from different places.
  • I think if we'd known about myregistry.com, we'd have maybe used that, but we ended up going with thechangingpad.com. They have a referral program that gets you money back, and it also works on what people buy off your registry. I think it was 5% back based on what they buy from your registry. GL!

Thanks for this!  We were trying to figure out how to register when the stores didn't carry what we wanted. :o)  Such smart ladies on this board!

  • We registered at Amazon and about 1/3 of the guests shopped there.  I did myregistry.com but people didn't know that and I guess feared it.  BRU of course was visited the most, but I ended up receiving 2 covers, 1 wetbag, 11 CDs, 3 hemp inserts and three rolls of liners from shower guests (not too bad from a gaggle of CD naysayers!).
  • For those of you who did the myregistry.com, does it automatically update if someone buys something? I can't seem to find the answer on their site.

Thanks, and sorry to hijack the OP's post - welcome!!
