Lumps on DS's neck

My DS has had a lump behind his left ear since he was born. His pedi keeps a close eye on it and doesn't seem real concerned. Today as I was rubbing his neck, I noticed he has two more lumps on the back of his neck (lower than the original one). I'm sort of freaking out. I want to set up an appt. to get them checked out. Anyone know anything about these & if they are common? They're a little bigger than a pea size & are moveable. I've googled it but haven't found anything very helpful. TIA!

It's like swollen glands. They are his adnoids. If it is more than one swollen I would call the doc. That happens to Colin EVERY SINGLE TIME he gets sick. It's a sign of infection sometimes. No need to freak- but I'd give the doc a call!

I agree with MrsC but I want to add that you probably don't want to consult Dr. Google...it'll just get you all worried over nothing.

yeah the little bumps on the back of his head, right at the base of the head/top of neck? that isn't something to be concerned about, but I would call the pedi just in case.

Ditto- sounds normal but it's always best to have the pedi check it out. lol about "Dr. Google"- I know I'm guilty of that sometimes!

Usually if they are moveable and soft it is ok - like a cyst or swollen gland and not another type of mass. I would consult your physician anyway, but try not to worry too much in the meantime - even though it's hard not to!
