Best time for Ft Worth zoo?

Hi ladies, I wondered if any of you can tell me when is the best time of year to go to the Ft Worth Zoo. DD went with her class earlier and didnt see many things. I'd like to take her again after DS is born so thats April and on. What do you think?

Either in the Spring or fall .. obviously it gets too hot. Also - go during a week day. It gets CROWDED.

The summer is too freaking hot to do anything outdoors unless you're sitting in a pool. I would think anytime of the year would be fine but go early (like, get there when it opens) and try to go during the week when it's less crowded.

We've gone in March every year so I think you'd be safe to go in April. I wouldn't do after it starts getting in the high 80's though. It'll be too darn hot to enjoy it.

Late March/ early April is usually a good bet.

Field trips are big then (March/April). I would go during the week, but I'd probably avoid Fridays.

Also, avoid Wednesdays (especially during the summer). Half-price day and it is packed.

I took the boys today and got there when they opened and it was perfect! Half price day on Wednesdays, too. DH & I took the boys 2 Saturdays ago and got there when it opened and it wasn't bad either.

Definitely go soon - it will be hot before you know it! Ugh!
