With the first attempt, the baby was turned the wrong way and refused to move! But our place let us come back the next week and we were able to get some great shots. I am very glad we did it

They couldn't see much on ours. I was talking to the u/s tech yesterday, and she said VERY RARELY can they get the really clear pictures you see them advertising!

I'll admit, I was. Unfortunately, the creepy guy that did ours was so hell-bent on confirming that she was a girl (we already knew that several times over so we certainly didn't need yet another confirmation) that he spent almost a half-hour looking for it.
The place I went suggested that you be well hydrated for the clearest pics (ie drink a TON of water for at least a week before the u/s). At first the baby had her face right up against my placenta (anterior placenta) and the pics were really fuzzy, but the tech had me lie on my side and jiggled my tummy a little bit to get her to move back so we could get better shots.
I had them every week after 27 wks due to DD measuring small. They were fun, but I hardly ever got a good face shot. If you are paying and it's a one time thing, you may be disappointed.

We just had a 3D U/S last weekend and it was incredible. We got a CD that contains 78 pictures (many of him smiling, yawning, sticking his tongue out) and a 4D movie (also pretty cool, but less so than the pictures IMO). I would highly recommend it!
We had a 3D and 4D US a few weeks ago and I highly recommend it also! It was so wonderful getting to see her! We got a whole CD of pics and a DVD of her moving. Such a great experience! One of her pics is below...we think she looks like a little cherub (but of course we are biased lol)
I see a perinatologist every 2 weeks and she always does a full anatomy scan. Every scan she tries to get a 3d pic for us and every time silly baby has her hand in front of her face, or a foot, or the umbi cord... so frustrating!
I wanted to get one, but then I went back and forth, because the cost...And now, I notice that a lot of times- The babies all look the same. No offense to anybody who has had them, but just my opinion...

But, that's just me.
