3rd Trimester

So, should we start keeping track of wedding meltdowns for SBLAY?

It just hit me. Fvkcing October is in the middle of hurricane season.

Absofuckinglutely great.

The venue we're looking at, is gorgeous on the inside...but ffs, I wanted an outdoor wedding, lol.

It could be a beautiful day..or it could be hellish.

Meltdown numero deux.

    ?

It really was great! Super classy, super romantic and private. I would have loved family to be involved but it became too chaotic and more about EVERYONE else being happy than about us! It was wonderful to just do our own thing, then celebrate with others when we got back home.?

  • I'm all for eloping, but my mother, MIL, and grandmother would all kill me dead.

Hell, I even thought about going to one of those one-stop shop, we-do-everything-for-you places...

As soon as we book the place figure out some logistics, I'll be much happier.

  • Take a deep breath!  Everything will be ok.

  • Doesnt hurricane season end in Sept??
  • Hahaha. Yeah, that could be a minor issue for an outdoor wedding. :)

Here's my advice: Control the things you can to the best of your ability and don't worry about everything else. Plan ahead, hire people you trust, then enjoy your day. Realize something WILL go wrong, and there won't be anything you can do about it. But it'll be ok.

These were my criteria for my wedding day:

    1. Come out of the day married

    2. Have a good time

    3. And the pictures to prove it....

    Wink

  • It rained and was in upper 60's-low 70s for our outdoor wedding and luck had it that it stopped raining about 40 mins after our ceremony was supposed to start so we just waited and hung out inside until it quit. We were all prepared to move everything indoors last minute but then said F it! Everything was still perfect and everyone had a blast! Do not stress about your wedding day, it is over way to fast to waste time caring about stuff you cant control like weather. Just plan for outdoor and on the day before or day of decide if that is possible and go with it!

It ends in October, I can remember one or two instances of horrific weather in October.

In the grand scheme, it's a very small liklihood that anything will happen.  Go for what you want.  If there's a hurricane, it happens.  You will still get married, one way or the other.  In the end, it really, really doesn't matter!

  • Maybe you should be on the Knot about wedding stuff instead so others in the same boat can commiserate/help you.
