At the potluck I went to today for lunch, a bunch of coworkers told me that I'm not that far along. Excuse me?!?! I'm just about 27 weeks and entering my third trimester in a couple days, how is that classified as "not that far along"? I don't get it!

WTH?
How far along do you have to be to be considered "far along" by your coworkers? Having contractions?
That is ridiculous.
Were they recently pregnant, maybe they feel like 8-9 pregnant is far along lol? Or maybe they don't know how to count weeks. I've noticed I have to count out the months for some people because they can't do the math.
Sometimes I find it hard to tell myself I am further along, but when baby has a chance (even if it is small) of survival...I find that to be further along. 30+ weeks to me is far along, not just "further"...if that makes any sense. However, I would never say not far along.
WTF? I consider anything farther than 20w along as well into the pregnancy...
Maybe it's just because they haven't known you were pregnant for long? I told my boss and a few co-workers at 15 weeks, but I didn't make a big announcement or anything like that. In fact, several of my coworkers said they didn't notice I was PG until a few weeks ago when my big bump appeared, or when they saw a couple photos from the big U/S that I had posted at my desk.
Anyway, they're weird. No matter how you slice and dice it, 27w is really pretty far along!!
I did! I just don't get it...maybe once I'm on maternity leave, then they'll classify me as "far along".
ha! my BFF is the opposite. Talking to her on the phone (we live so far apart now),
her: when are you due
me: 2nd half of July.
her: OMG that's so soon!

I told all of my co-workers at 8 weeks...so they have known for quite a while that I'm pregnant.
That's why I give up on weeks with some people. I also tend to round up the month for emphasis for really obnoxious people...
"You're gonna miss this You're gonna want this back You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast..."
I hate that too...I always hear "You've got a ways to go yet" Ugh. SHUT UP!!!
Hmm. I really don't get it then. Maybe they'll think you're "far along" when they notice you're gone on maternity leave!
