2nd Trimester

I feel bad for her...

I have a friend who is 11 weeks along (she doesn't bump) and she has the worst morning sickness still.  Does anyone in 2nd tri still have m/s?  I'm trying to give her some piece of  mind.  She feels like it will never end!  It's her 2nd baby and she didn't have ANY morning sickness with the first!

Re: I feel bad for her...

  • For me, it never goes away.  I inject myself with 3 different medications a day (Compazine, Phenergan, and Zofran) and have an IV at home keeping me hydrated.

It happened with my prior pregnancies, too.  I usually get a run of feeling good between 22-28wks.  This time....not so much.  Nothing is making it go away completely and I'm just trying to survive the best I can at this point.

If she can't keep anything down, she really needs to see her OB and start finding what medication works.  I need a combo of things and, even with that, I'm still throwing up 4-5x a day.

I also feel like it will never end.  But, I have the experience with my prior 2, that it didn't end until I delivered, so I guess knowing it's not going to end is a little comforting!

Good luck to your friend!  She shouldn't be afraid to ask for something to help her.  No point suffering when there is medical science to help you out!

  • I had it really bad until 12 1/2 weeks. After that I magically started feeling better.
  • Mine didn't start until the 2nd tri. I also didn't have any with my first.

Wow an IV!  I'm so sorry you have to go through that, that is so unfair!  Sounds like you handle it well though.

She can keep a few things down, mainly rice.

Thanks everyone for your insight!  I think hers will stop soon, statistically anyway!
