I plan on breast feeding my baby but I've heard that it might be better to first rent a breast pump (hospital grade) instead of buying in case breast feeding doesn't quite work out. For those who did rent, where did you rent from and what's the average price?
Re: Breast Pump- Rent or Buy
So Tasty, So Yummy
I was going to rent one, but when DH and I sat down to do a cost analysis on rent vs. buy, it made more financial sense to buy one for us. You can always resell the actual machine (not the parts you used because that's just gross!) on Craigslist or sell it to a friend if you decide not to use it. Breast pumps are expensive and I'm sure the market for used ones is huge.
I would buy, personally. I have the Medela Pump in Style and I love it.
Another vote here for the Lansinoh.
ditto the Lansinoh - I got it from drugstore.com when it was on sale
I will say that I got a manual (Avent Isis) as a gift before he was born and waited to buy the electric until later.?
do we have exact due date, april 13? ?I'm a Woman's too. ?Hopefully new wing will be open soon! ?
?Another option if you do buy and end up not needing it, you can always resell on ebay or craigslist. ?I've seen a ton of used pumps. ?Looks like they go for half their value at least. ?I used a medela pump in style last time but was never abble to actually pump much out....so I may rent a pump this time since they are supposed to be more effective. ?Its really hard to know in advance. ?gl!
i rented my pump at the motherhood center, you have option to rent for just a week or months, their prices are based on how long you rent....something around $70 a month...you can check them out www.motherhoodcenter.com
