Question about clomid resistance

I did a clomid/trigger IUI cycle 2 months ago & it didn't work.  I only had one egg after using the clomid.  This cycle I am on injectibles (started on Sunday night) and after my bloodwork yesterday, they increased my follistem dose fron 225 to 300.  Does clomid resistance have anything to do with needing more FSH?  Does clomid resistance mean I have PCOS?  I have never been diagnosed with PCOS, but from what I have been reading, it seems like the resistance only happens with that syndrome.  I will ask my doctor next time I go, but I was hoping someone here might be able to help.

Thanks!!

  • I"m an administrative assistant and very qualified to answer these questions...

Why are you doing injectables and iui on cycle 10??

  • I have never heard of clomid resistance.  I know lots of people who have used clomid and only had one follicle.  Clomid is supposed to induce/strengthen ovulation - not necessarily give you more than one follicle.  Did the doctor tell you that you have a "resistance" go clomid?
  • I am on cycle 17 (I haven't updated my signature).  I am now injecting 300 iu of follistem.  When I did the clomid challenge test, my doctor told me that since I only produced one follicle the clomid would not work for me.  BTW, my fsh level is a 12.

  • Your FSH seems high and that has implications that are more intricate than just "clomid won't work".

Try this on the TTTC board, they'll give you tons of info that you can take back to your doctor (specifically an RE) to get a clearer picture.
