When did you have your worst supply dip?

DS is going to start solids this weekend and I am nervous about my supply dipping.  When did yours dip?

Re: When did you have your worst supply dip?

  • Mine dips every time AF comes for a visit (regularly since giving birth) but the worst was when AF came and I discovered my deep freeze wasn't shut tight and on the same day. I lost almost my entire stash except a couple bags that were still in the fridge freezer. I was an emotional wreck as I was just back to work and struggling to keep up with what she was drinking each day as it was as I adjusted to pumping while away. My pumping output was immediately less than half of what it had been prior. The stress of knowing the stash was gone and I had no back-up if I didn't produce enough really did a number on my supply.

DD is 5.5mo and we haven't started solids yet either. BFing is finally so easy that I'm worried to mess with things again!

  • I wouldnt worry too much.  DS is 10 months and still BF.  We havent had to supplement with formula yet, and he has been having solids since 6 months.
  • Around 8 months or so. Not sure why. I thought AF was coming, but it's still a no-show.

  • Currently. I keep thinking AF is coming, but nothing yet.

  • Now, actually. My son is 11 months and I was sick last month, which drops it apparently. Also, I tried a different pump and got 1/2 of my normal output. Try alternating sides, 10 min. ea. for an hour (or whatever time you have). It boosts your output.
