3rd Trimester

what kind of clothes for first month?

we were lucky enough to get almost everything off our registry but hardly any clothes. ?we have about 6 0-3 mo onesies and a few sleep sacks but thats about it in terms of clothes. ?(we have more bigger sized stuff)

should we just load up on some more onesies? ?what else should we get in terms of clothes for the first month??

  • nothing. dont over do it on the first couple months they dont wear all of it if you do and they grow really fast!! Plus they are always wrapped in blankets at first anyway.

  • Since I'm a huge nerd, I made a spreadsheet Geeked

I have no idea whether I'll have enough of everything...I plan to dress her in just t-shirts and diapers (swaddled, of course) right at first, and then mostly sleepers with onesies underneath. HTH!

  • perfect! ?just what i wanted to hear! ?
  • Everyone is telling me that for the first month or two sleepers and sleep sacks (for night-time) are what I'll want...are you having a boy? If so, get extra--they tend to have more "diaper" blow-outs from what my friends are warning me. I have hardly anything in NB size--mostly 0-3 months.

  • We have quite a few onesies b/c that is what she will be wearing during the day and sleeping in as well. We do live in Georgia though and it gets very hot here during the spring and summer. I imagine that if you live in cooler climates you will need gowns and long sleeved onesies.
  • If the onesies are Gerber brand, you may want to get some 3-6 because they run pretty small.

Yeah, I wish someone had told me this before I washed the NB Gerber onesies...  They are so tiny that I don't think they would fit on a barbie doll!  I'll be shocked if she ever wears them at all.

  • Onesies, sleep and plays, gowns, socks, a few mittens and few little hats. That's all they wear. Basically pj's all the time. I would get about 5 more onesies and a few gowns and a few footed sleep and plays. That's really all you'll need.?
  • If anything, I would possibly purchase some of the gowns.  They will come in handy as you will be changing plenty of diapers the first couple of weeks especially!

  • That spreadsheet seems a little over the top for me.  I don't think you need that much stuff.  Maybe 5-6 sleepers in 0-3, 2-3 in NB, and the gowns are nice too .  Plus maybe 7 onesies.
