pain should I expect? The doctor told me to take motrin and they will be giving me adavan to relax me but I'm really nervous about the procedures. I had an HSG and it wasn't too bad, but I've heard the biopsy is pretty painful.
Has anyone been through these tests? I go on Th. I'm glad my doc is doing them but I'm still nervous.
Re: endometerial biopsy and hysteroscopy how much
Thanks so much! I will defintely report back. If anyone is interested. My doctor is sending the sample to a researcher at Yale, he's supposed to have a test that tests for several things, apparently it's pretty cutting edge:

I'm sorry, I don't really have an answer, but I'm scheduled for an endo biopsy in April. I've heard it's more "uncomfortable" than an HSG. I've also had an HSG too and it wasn't too bad. Best of luck. I'll be looking for an update!! I hope we can keep in touch.
Why did your doc decide to do the biopsy and hysteroscopy? Also, when in your cycle are they doing it?
I had the hysterscopy and it was fine - didn't hurt at all I also took alleve or something before the procedure - it was super quick too !
the only procedure I've had that was uncomfortable was the sonohystogram -
GL!
I've had both those procedures.
You'll feel a pinch when they are dealing with going through your cervix.
The hysteroscopy didn't hurt per say -- it did cause strong cramping. Not fun but nothing I couldn't live with.
My first endometrial biopsy was better than the second. The first he seemed to not have any trouble getting through my cervix. It only takes them a few seconds to get the sample. I cramped but it was certainly not classifiable as unbearable.
The second biopsy was less fun. (Yup, had to have two since the results showed me out of phase but the RE suspected it was still just a side effect of the d&c). The second time my cervix was not cooperative. It took longer and was not enjoyable. Once she was in, I felt a strong cramp and then she was out.
Honestly, while for a few moments they are not fun, it is over quick. The moment they are back out the cramping is over.
GL!
I too have had both of those procedures.
For me, the hysteroscopy was not fun, but that is because it lasted a pretty long time. While they were doing it they found a uterine septum. They took pictures and actually resected it right there and then (with scissors!!) while I was watching the whole thing. They probably had the scope up there for at least 15 minutes and it caused a lot of cramping the whole time. I would assume though that if everything looks good they would be in and out and it wouldn't be too bad.
The endometrial biopsy was painful, but over very very quickly and once it was done, I didn't have any residual pain.
Good Luck to you!
