2nd Trimester

Those of you with breast implants

I had mine done 3 years ago at a very natural looking size, since becoming pregnant my boobs have become too big for me.  The past couple of days they have really been hurting.  They are red, my nipples are very itchy and I can actually feel the implants in the same place on the inside of both of my boobs, which I never could before.  Should I be nervous about this, or is it just due to the changing of the tissue?

I've been googling, but with no luck.

Re: Those of you with breast implants

  • I had mine done about 3 years ago too. I went from an A to a DD (I was supposed to be a C, but you know...) I had a terrible surgery with LOTS of complications. I actually had staph infection and was unable to "lay" on them in order to help with scar tissue. I also had open incisions for 3 months after surgery... it was rough. I actually revisted my surgeon right before BFP to consider having them corrected, but decided that since I was planning on BFing that I would end up having even more surgery, therefore I decided to just wait. He assured me that I would have no problems throughout pregnancy and BFing. I don't know if it matters or not, but I had mine done through my nipple and placed underneath the muscle. Mine haven't really gotten much bigger since BFP, but they are incredibly itchy. Due to bad surgery I've always been able to feel the actual implants, but I have noticed that they seem more "lumpy" lately? I'm guessing this could be a natural reaction to my body gearing up for milk coming in? Sorry, I'm not much help :(

  • no implants so i'm not help.  just wanted to say i hope you find some relief. gl!
  • I have no experience with this, but definitely call your Dr and inform/ask them about what's going on. Definitely better to be safe than sorry, especially with a baby involved!
  • Mine are 2 years old and silicone and I am went from a to d cup. They are bigger now, but not too big...I know they'll get bigger later on with the milk coming in too. Mine are under the muscle and not itchy. I'd call your ob and plastic surgeon and see what they say, but is probably due to the pregnancy.
