I'm watching The Doctors on TV and she recommended whole milk if you're TTC instead of skim. She said skim isn't bad, but whole milk is better for TTC.
Edit: I drank skim until I got pregnant, now whole.

Mr. & Mrs. UMich! July 2006! :-) DX: High FSH/DOR
It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!
Beta #1 (9dp5dt) = 206, Beta #2 (11dp5dt) = 438
1st u/s @ 6w5d = 11/11/11 = ONE little bean! HB 120bpm! ?Our Baby Boy Born June 26th, 2012?
Skim - mostly in cereal and cooking. Recenly Ive fallen in love with Chocolate Soy Milk (Silk). It's yummy!
Why do they say whole is better then skim when TTC? Is it because you need more fat? I'm sure most of us get plenty of fat from other foods.
Plus, skim milk has more calcium then whole (per 8 oz glass). I learned this in my HS nuturion class. It was a hard concept for me to get at first because I figured all milk has the same amount of calcium. But when the fat is removed, it is not replaced with water, it is replaced with more fat free milk. So there is actually more milk in 8 oz of fat free milk there there is in 8 oz of whole. Did that make any sence???
My Journey to Motherhood Me 36, DH 42 7.5 years of TTC ... It never gets any easier.
Baby Girl # 1
TTC Since January 2009
Reproductive Endocrinologist diagnosed us "Unexplained Infertility".
After 3 years . . . 3 IUIs . . . and 3 IVFs . . . our miracle GIRL arrived on August 6, 2012.
Baby Girl # 2 TTC Since June 2013 Got pregnant on our own without Fertility Treatments - January 2016! Thank you snow storm Jonas! EDD 10/15/16 At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid. Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth. If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP. My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
Hmmm, I hadn't even thought about that. We drink skim, and DH really hates everything else. But maybe I'll buy one for him, one for me.
"For a long time there were only your footprints & laughter in our dreams & even from such small things, we knew we could not wait to love you forever."
I've really only had skim milk since college (which I guess I'm still technically in, over 7 years later). I might (and I repeat might) switch to 1 or 2% once pregnant, but that would be a stretch for me.
I used to drink skim exclusively. But not long ago someone posted a link to an article about diet and conception, which recommended a limited amount of whole mile. So I drink slim for calcium, and about 1/2C per day of whole.
I didn't think I would like whole but now I really like it!
Re: What kind of milk do you drink?
Haha...I thought you drank Fertility Friend milk at first. It took a while to figure it out.
I drink soy, if at all.

It's very, very rare that we drink milk, but we purchase the hormone free 2% or whole.
We have a really great health food market that carries local, Amish diary products, in the glass bottle and all!
Ditto

And I was thinking Full Fat and wondering isn't that the same as whole?

It would be really funny if I said breast, right?
I prefer whole but DH likes 2% so it depends on who's putting it in the cart.
