Or is it just my office?
And when you call and leave a message, how long until a nurse (or somebody) usually calls you back?
I figured that it was the norm to have to leave a message and wait for hours for a call back from a nurse, but my coworker thought that was awful. I'm just curious.
Re: Is it really hard for you to get your doctor on the phone?
I've called this Dr's office twice. The first time they didn't call back at all and the nurse mentioned at my next appointment that she remembered my call and "did anyone call me back?" ::rolls eyes::
The second time they called back within an hour or so.
So far I have called a couple of times and I get a call back within a hour or so. I think it depends of if its a emergency or not. I have only talked to the doctor like once on the phone but mainly it the same nurse that calls me back which I like because she is very helpful and is patient with me. They also have the system set up right when you call so 1 is if its an emergency call (they also tell you to go straight to the ER if it is too serious) and 2 if its just a routine question like about a appointments or details of your blood draw it you didnt understand things about it and like 3 for the receptionist.
Are your questions things you feel like should get anwsered right away like regarding bleeding or things like that? Or are they things that can wait? I guess if my doc didn't call me back right away and I felt it was important then I would switch. If it happened mutiple times. Also, ask if there is a certain time of day they have blocked out to just make call so it would be easier to get ahold of them during that time. I hope it works out for you.
