Goofy Q: Laying there

So how long do you/should you lay there after giving it "the ole college try"? Wetend to be morning people and when a toddler wakes up it is difficult to stay and marinade.  Is there a recommended time? 15 min? 30 min?

Thanks!

Re: Goofy Q: Laying there

  • You really don't have to lay there at all.  Plenty of sperm will be past your cervix after ejaculation.  They won't come back out if you stand up.

  • Like the pp it probably doesn't make a difference but just for good measure try for at least 5, it couldn't hurt!

  • My RE said 15 mins is plenty, it is more of an extra help but PP is right normally plenty make it w/o laying.  But I am very cautious each cycle so I lay Stick out tongue

  • Well for IUI when they put it right directly into the cervix, they have me lay there for at least 10 mins so I would recommend you try to stay at least that long too.?
  • Everyone's pretty well covered it. That said, I'm usually pretty tuckered after a good romp anyways, so wind up taking a 20 min cat nap. I guess I get in my wait time anyways!
  • At night, I am still laying down after (sometimes I prop pillows up under my hips) and then fall asleep, but if done in the AM I usually try to lay there for 5-10 mins.  When I have had an IUI, they set the timer and have me lay there for 10 mins.  When DS was conceived I was up and about right after.
