So yesterday I had another checkup at the specialist. This is the Dr. that did my Level 1 and 2 sonograms. So after the u/s I finally meet the Dr. He starts going over all the results and everything was good. Then he tells me the cyst that was in her brain went away. I was like "What cyst? No one told me about a cyst?!" Luckily it's gone and nothing to worry about but isn't that a little messed up that they didn't tell me about it? Do you think they knew it wasn't a big deal so didn't tell me so I wouldn't worry about something they knew would go away?
Re: Dr. visit. Want some opinions
I'm sure they didn't say anything to you originally because it was probably a common thing that goes away and they didn't want you to get worried about it. You couldn't have done anything anyway, so they wanted to wait and see if the problem was worth addressing. Luckily all is well!
I am going to guess that is what happened. My DD had 2 of them and we were told at the time that they have to inform us of them, but they felt the cysts raise a lot of unnecessary alarm. Most of the time they resolve on their own, which happened with DD. Also in isolation the cysts don't mean anything, but with other markers it can be a sign of something more.
ETA: Thinking on this more, if this was the first time meeting with a dr then that is why you are just hearing about it. However, if you met with a dr after the first u/s it was most likely an oversight.

While I think they should have told you, they probably just didn't see any reason for concern and didn't mention it for that reason.
Glad to hear that everything is good, though!
I do level II sonos...they didnt tell her about the cysts because with no other problems, there is no significance to the cysts.....
yes they can....why worry patients for noooooooo reason
I guess I didnt realize cysts were as common as they are. I guess if there were no other problems it makes some sense not to say anything. I guess I was just thinking cyst=problem.
