Hi ladies!
This group is open to anyone who has already gone through de/surrogacy, are in the process of it, or plan on doing it in the future. If you?d like to be added to this group, please reply to this message and I?ll make sure to add you for next week. I?ll be posting this check-in every Tuesday morning.
Status Update: Where are you currently with the de/surrogacy process?
QOTD: How many embies will you/did you transfer? Do you want more kids after this (presuming we?re all successful)? If yes, will you go back to trying with your own eggs/uterus or go back to de and/or gc?

QOTD: We would definitely transfer 2 great blasts. Aside from the medical concerns of carrying multiples, I am hoping for twins. Since I am knocking on the door of 40, I would like any child of ours to have a sibling. Twins would be great. If not, we would hopefully have frosties left over to try for a sibling. If no frosties, hopefully we would have our one and only.
Update: Still waiting for the appointment with my RE - only 8 more days of torture. I am so ready to get this show on the road.
Status Update: I received my tentative calendar yesterday! I think I'll get the more detailed one at the end of this week, which I'm excited about. I'm still on bcp through 3/7. I start lupron on 3/5. We're still looking at an ER at the end of March. Everything is coming together and I'm so anxious to move forward! These bcps are making me feel gross, so I'll be happy to move on to the next stage!
QOTD: We will transfer 2 embies. Assuming they take (which they WILL!), DH and I will try again afterwards with my own eggs again. At that point, we'll only try naturally w/my eggs. If that doesn't work, we'll hopefully have some frozen embies from this donor egg cycle to use for another child. If we do use the leftover frozen embies, I really think we'll just transfer one at a time if we end up with twins with this fresh cycle.
Status Update: - well after a little hiccup we are back on schedule! We start Lupron tonight, stay on BCP through the end of the month and ER is tentatively scheduled for St. Patrick's Day!!
QOTD: My RE will likely push me to only transfer one but I am hoping to convince him that two is a better option for us. I'm done trying with my own eggs - but if we had some frosties we would use them - hopefully it won't come to that!

I'm in my second week of BCP and starting lupron next Tuesday. Supression check is 3/12 and I think the donor will start stims around 3/20
As for embryo transfer, our clinic will really push for eSET if we have good blasts. I am 34, so we have time for additional pregnancies. From the 30,000 foot level, twins seem like a great thing - 2 babies, instant siblings, one pregnancy. But if I look more closely at it, the risks increase, the costs increase, the sleep deprivation increases. So - if we have hatching lovely blasts, then we'll probably transfer 1. If not, then probably two tops.
The donor has had one cycle that resulted in a twin pregnancy, and one cycle that was cancelled since there was no fert (MFI patients who refused ICSI
). So it's hard to know what we'll end up with!

Update: I obviously am (hopefully) done with cancer and can get back to focusing on babymaking!! I am so ecstatic about our cycle in June I can hardly stand it!
QOTD: Well, we will more than likely transfer two embies. I am, however, increasingly worried about all the risks associated with twins, but DH and I are excited by the prospect of twins. Who knows if we'll have frozen embies (we're doing a split cycle) or if we'll be able do another DE cycle, so I would love to get 2 babies out of one cycle.

QOTD: Our RE will said he will only transfer 1 blast because our chances are really good (75%!) with the DE. We transferred 2 when we did IVF, but I was really scared of the twin factor.
Update: We have secured our donor, but just found out last night through the legal docs that she is not available for the April cycle as we had planned. Our clinic is not doing a May cycle, so now we are waiting until June! I took a medical leave from my doctorate program thinking we would be done with the IVF by June. I am so po'd!
Futuremom2b~Oops, sorry I forgot to answer part of the QOTD! I got a phone call as I was typing my response and I obviously (as evidenced by my typing) can't multitask well! Thanks for thinking of me!
We aren't going to try with my own eggs unless I get a period on my own (I don't have them now). If I do, by chance, get a period back, we'll probably ask for an u/s to see what's going on with my ovaries and if they have any andral follies. If there are, we'll try with my eggs. I'm thinking the chances of that happening are slim since I haven't got a period yet, but that's okay, I'm cool with DE.
If we are successful with DE/IVF in June, I doubt we'll attempt to do a cycle after that with my own eggs unless my POF spontaneously goes into remission. If we have any frosties from this DE/IVF, we'll probably do a FET in a few years. Who knows?!
Arb - you can answer (or not answer!) as much or little of QOTD as you want!
I was just curious b/c I know that you had said you originally might try with your own eggs since the treatment may possibly put the POF in remission.
Cat - I'm sorry you got pushed back, but you'll have a great cycle buddy (Arb)!!! Good luck everyone!

Update~Just got off the phone with nurse and the donor is on board with an April cycle, they are just need to make sure her cycle starts in the next week.
QOTD: The RE does not know what caused me to have POF so we would have to go the route of DE again, hopefully we will have some snow babies after this cycle

We hope to do an elective single embryo transfer, provided we make it to a 5dt. If it's a 3dt then probably 2 and no more than that.
We definitely want more than 1 child. I'm hoping we'll have frosties but if not it'll be another de cycle. There's just no point in us trying on our own.
Update: We chose our donor last week! I don't have the official calendar, but we are thinking ER 4/22 (my wedding anniversary) and ET 4/27. I start bcp's with AF, which should be around 3/15.
QOTD: Due to my age, we will transfer two embies if we have two good ones. That is pretty standard at my clinic and we are okay with the prospect of twins.
Hi, all! Well, the status on me is that we got our calendar and, although I posted that I pushed it back by 2 weeks, I've asked for the original dates to be reinstated! That would have me starting lupron on 3/3, with the donor starting stims on 3/16 - estimated ER around 3/27!! We're waiting to hear if she's OK with going back to the original dates!!
QOTD - my clinic typically transfers 2. She has done two cycles, both resulting in singleton pregnancies, but, I don't know how many were transferred. I'm actually meeting with my doctor at 1:00 today to discuss the logistics, so, I'll get a better feel for how many he wants to transfer, but, I'm anticipating it will be two.
