anniversary "wood" year

any girls celebrate the "wood" year yet?

march 12th will be our 4th wedding anni and so far every year we've done the traditional gifts (1st yr paper, 2nd yr cotton, 3rd yr leather...etc). i'm stumped on the wood year.

i was thinking pencils with our wedding date engraved on them for his office, but then i thought that would be something he would give me instead.

any ideas?

  • Chocolate strawberries, heck yeah! LOL

Well now you can be prepared for wood year LOL start brainstorming... Wooden watch holder? that one is a toughy!

  • Well, if you want more ideas for next year, we just celebrated our fifth. I got DH some wood boards that you use to smoke stuff in your BBQ (he's really big on his grill). He got me an awesome gift, at least I thought so, it was a recipe box with our names inscribed on it as well as the "recipe for a happy marriage" on the cover.

  • if its flowers and fruits...just call edible creations (i think that's their name), kill 2 birds w/one stone.

and as for wood, if your DH is into gadgets, PB has really great things to put away the phone and camera and be able to charge it.  or what I always think is great, the old school razors w/the shaving soap (i think  that's it).  that it has a brush.  those are really nice and the handles are sometimes wood.

i used to be REALLY crafty b/c i had all this free time on my hands - lately im embarrassed to say that i usually buy family member's birthday gifts and give it to them in the same bag i bought it in b/c i have no time to actually sit and wrap a gift ;)
