2nd Trimester

i cannot find relief from this farking heartburn.

last night i developed the most raging case of heartburn recorded in the history of my esophogus. i took a zantac, then 14 tums, then dh took away the bottle, and then another zantac, and nothing helped. and i can feel the acidic goodness bubbling up yet again. omg. i have a dr.s appt on thurs, and i think i will threaten her within an inch of her life if she doesnt fix this.

  • Wow, that is bad if neither worked. I am sorry. I would cry if it didn't go away. I've always had heartburn. I hate it!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sweetie I have the miracle cure for you.

:: Hands Jelli a gallon of chocolate milk::

Now I don't know if you have Neilsons in the US but in ?Canada this is our saving grace and miracle cure for heart burn. You need to find something rich and creamy and chocolatey down there. This will cure it.

    xox?

  • Someone posted yesterday that a teaspoon of plain yellow mustard will calm it down. I drink a big glass of chocolate milk and that seems to help. I would chill out on the Tums. Your husband was right to take them away.
  • heartburn is the devil! i have to force myself to sleep just to make it stop (luckily havent had much of it at all) but i either have to not stop drinking milk or just sleep. GL!!

i drank 4 full glasses of whole milk last night trying to make it stop, does that count?

i think i am going to go buy prilosec otc even though its not on the "safe" list. me chopping off my head in sheer pain probably isn't considered "safe" either, so either way...

  • Nope Chocolate Milk is the magic combo regular milk doesn't have the same effect.

I asked my OB about the same thing. Zantac & Tums weren't cutting it. Every time I bent over or laid down, I would get vomit in my mouth too. Freaking gross.

She said try the Prilosec, if it didn't work, she'll put me on something RX. I just started the Prilosec today, we'll see what happens.
