How to give amoxicillin?

My DS has his first ear infections (yup, both ears).  Based on genetics, I fear this will not be his last bout, but am keeping a good thought.  The pediatrician prescribed liquid amoxicillin.  I am using a dropper to give it to DS, but sometimes he spits it out and I am afraid he's not getting the whole dose.  Any suggestions to get him to swallow it all?

    Do it in small squirts while he's laying down on his changing table.  Try to aim the dropper for the side of his mouth instead of the back of his throat.

    I do a little at a time whereas DH would give it to him in 1 shot. I give it to him when he's on the changing table getting his diaper changed. He does better before getting his next bottle.

    DS was on Amoxicillin for over 1 month.  He loved it. Now he's on another medication and really hates it. I don't blame it's so gross.

    This, plus doing it before a bottle so she thinks she's being fed...at least initially.

    I have your answer...  Put the medicine in a nipple and give it to him/her before you feed him/her.  They suck down the medicine without the mess.  DS is taking amoxicillin and a steroid so we do this a few times a day.

    Ditto.  Also agree with the pp who said to give it to him before a feeding.

    They also make a pacifier medicine dispenser. I found one at BRU and Walgreens. My daughter is on prophylactic antibiotics due to chronic UTIs and it's the only way we can get her to take her medication.
