I am getting so frustrated with them. I had to pay $1700 when I was 36 weeks pregnant, for L&D. I used my flex account visa to pay $400 and then I paid the remaining $1300 separately.
The flex company questioned the $400 and I sent them documentation for the expense. They still didn't accept it and they put a hold on my card. However, they continued to reimburse me for expenses for copays & prescriptions throughout the year.
That was for last year, and I still have $156 remaining in my flex account. I have sent them all of the documentation for the various L&D expenses that I paid for (printing it all out from my insurance company) and they still are not reimbursing me for the $156 remaining in my account.
I do not understand why this is such a problem. My L&D expenses that were not covered by insurance were $1700. My request is only for $556 of that expense.... it's not like it's all duplicate expenses or anything. Ugh. It's so frustrating. And I call them, they tell me they're "researching" it, and then they never call me back. I've faxed letters to them too. I don't know what else to do, but I want my $156!

That sucks! I wonder why they don't want to reimburse you for those, obviously they are covered expenses. I hope they get it figured out soon for you and you get your money.
I'm still dealing with charges from when DS was in the NICU. They billed my ins for everything, and DS was on DH's insurance. Then when they refiled everything with DH's insurance, they didn't want to pay b/c they said he had other coverage (my ins). I can't figure out why they think that, and my ins company has verified that he's not on the policy, but they still don't want to pay. So I occassionally get bills in the 20K range that I have to call and get straightened out for the millionth time. (sorry to get off on a tanget there, I'm just feeling your pain)
Mikey, that sucks. If I got a $20k bill in the mail, I'd have a heart attack!
I wonder if my HR dept could help me sort this out. I'm so sick of going back and forth with these people. No wonder we discontinued using them this year. We seem to get a new flex company every year b/c they all suck!

Coach, I don't know... but I certainly have delivered now and they should be competent enough to figure this stuff out. And it's not like it's unusual for pregnant people to pre-pay for L&D. It's the norm. I've sent the documentation 3 or 4 times now. Ugh.
I will contact HR & see what they can do. It would be great if they could get this reconciled for me.

I had an issue this year and my HR took care of it for me after I got confusion from the flex company.
