Why do I act 13 when I am around my mom??

I swear I revert everytime I am around her--replete with eye rolls, sarcasm, and even the two-syllable "Mo-om" when I am annoyed.  She is being AMAZING and has driven up from Dallas to watch my only child in my first 2 weeks back at work, so why oh why can I not just let the normal mom comments roll off my back????  I know I am being an ungrateful twit when I do it (which is EXACTLY how a 13 year old behaves!!).

    I totally know what you mean.  I feel like when I am around my mom, I suddenly get critical of EVERYTHING she says.  But if a friend told me the exact same thing, it wouldn't bother me.  DH thinks it's b/c I care what she thinks about me since she is my mom, so that makes me overanalyze her comments.  Which, I can see is true. I am trying to get better!
