C/S ladies: How long did it take for your incision to heal

This weekend my incision started to bleed a little bit and it is now really sore again. It has been 8 weeks since my C/S.  Is this normal?  I have a call into my dr office just to be sure but I wanted to see what your experiences have been.

  • Sorry, I'm no help. Mine never bled. I kept the tape on my until my 6 week appt (now that was painful getting that stuff off) and it was healed by then.

  • my dr. told me at the 2 week apt that the skin had already healed.  doesn't sound normal to me, i'm sorry!  but i'm not an expert.
  • I kept the steri strips on for two weeks and when I took them off it was healed.  It took longer for all the swelling to go down but I never had any bleeding or anything.  8 weeks seems like a long time for something to still be going on!!

  • I didn't have steri strips or tape just dissolvable sutures. The incision just looks terrible too.  I hope they call back soon.

  • Mine never bled after I got home from the hospital.
  • Sounds like your incision is really irritated! Call your OB for sure. Mine told me to call if there was any bleeding/oozing. I've had 2 c-sections and healed up very quickly each time.

    GL!

  • My incision took forever to heal.  One small area kept draining and oozing.  I went back to my doctor about 6 times and everytime he said it looked good, wasn't infected and that I'm just taking a long time to heal.  This didn't stop for me until 4 months pp.  Not normal.  I hope you get into your doctor soon!
