How much milk do you get?

I had a c-section 6 days ago. ?My milk finally came in yesterday. ?I'm getting 2 oz from both boobs after 20 minutes. ?Is that good? ?average? ?

Will my milk get more plentiful as time goes on? ?I rarely get DS to latch so I pump and bottle feed so far. ?I'm meeting with a LC in the next few days in hopes of being able to BF from the breast.?

Sounds good to me for only being 6 days pp! Your milk will definitely be more plentiful as time goes on. Just nurse/pump often! Good luck with your LC, I'm sure she will have lots of good advice for you!

I think I was getting about 4-5 oz total at that point, but I may have had an oversupply issue. I now get about 10 oz from both if I don't feed DD first. If I nurse her first, I'll get about 4 oz. HTH

I only get about 2 oz from each side when I pump. You should be getting more soon. If you keep trying to get him to latch correctly you should produce more from his natural sucking motions. I had problems with latching at the beginning too, and I tried nipple shields and they worked like a charm!

the most I've ever gotten was 3.5 oz total from a 20 min pumping -- the lact. consultant says I'm on the low side of normal

I only get 2-3oz at most right now. I have a low supply. I was only getting a few drips each pumping session until about 6wks

Wow! I'm jealous! I don't pump too often but when I do, I only get 2.5-4 ounces max depending on the time of day!!!!?

If you're already getting 1-2 oz. total, your supply will most likely grow. When I started pumping (when DS was 3 weeks old), I would only get about 1-2 oz. per session. Now I can get 3-7 oz. per session, depending on whether DS has just eaten and what time of day it is.

Congratulations on the baby--beautiful! And good luck with the BF/pumping. It's really hard in the beginning, but I'm at almost four months, and am SO glad I stuck with it. Keep it up, and enjoy this time with your baby!

Sounds really good to me! I nursed at every feeding for two weeks and was still only able to pump about a 1/4 of an ounce (5ml)! I continued to do it but it actually became less so I gave up. 2 ounces sounds fantastic!!
